Purdue University

You can spot a fan of the Purdue University Boilermakers from a mile away. The giveaway is when they cringe at anyone wearing the color crimson. There are few rivalries in all of sports as heated as the one between the Boilermakers and their arch-nemeses, the Hoosiers of IU.  While they may not be the first team that comes to mind when you think Indiana College Sports, the Boilermakers are fiercely competitive in many sports. Men's Basketball

With 31 appearances at the big dance since 1969, the Purdue University Boilermakers Men’s Basketball team is among the most successful teams in the Indiana College Basketball landscape. Five times to the Elite 8 and twice to the Final Four, the Boilermakers men’s team are consistent winners on the hardwood year in, year out.

Football

They may not share quite the same level of consistent success as the men’s basketball squad, but on the gridiron the Boilermakers put forward a tough, competitive team every year. The team does have twelve conference championships and eight of them since being a part of the Big Ten Conference.

Women's Basketball

The Purdue Boilermakers Women’s Basketball team has a particular claim to fame that the men’s team does not, and that is one NCAA National Championship to their record, and have also reached the Final Four on two other occasions. With that high level of success, the lady Boilermakers give the men’s team a run for their money when it comes to consistently winning games on the hard court.

Baseball

As one of the oldest standing collegiate sports teams in the nation, the Purdue Boilermakers Baseball team has been competing at a high level since 1888. Their record includes three trips to the NCAA Tournament and two times as champion of the Big 10 Conference.

Softball

Only founded in 1994, The Purdue Boilermakers Softball team has represented the Old Gold and Black well with two conference championships in that short amount of time.
